Engine rebuild kit for the Honda XL/XR600R's. Time to rebuild? If you're diving in and doing the top end, replacing engine cover gaskets and replacing seals this is a great kit to have on hand!
Note: This gasket set comes with a reproduction of valve cover gasket 12391-MG2-790 which was used on models from '84 and up. If you have an '83 XL600R either purchase Honda part 12391-MG3-004 separately (we do not carry it) or modify the gasket that comes in the kit.
Installation Tips:
Press your seals in straight with a seal driver or a socket with a slightly smaller OD than the seal. Both surfaces must be free of dirt to create an oil tight seal.
All sealing surfaces for gaskets must be clean and flat to make a proper seal, sometimes non-hardening sealant is necessary.
