This is a reproduction of the Kawasaki brake master cylinder found on the Z1, KZ900 and other bikes. It's a complete master cylinder and lever assembly. You can also use it one any of the 70's Hondas with single disc front brakes. Just flush your hoses, bolt it on, connect the brake hose, add fluid, bleed and then stop like you mean it. At this price it's practically cheaper to replace the whole thing rather than fixing parts of the original. It really looks nice having a new one of these on your bike. It obviously looks a little different from the original Honda master cylinders but as you can see in the photos, it still looks really nice! You can use this for just about any vintage bike application.

Note: The lever and pivot bolt don't come installed, apply some grease to the pivot bolt sleeve and the end of the piston on the master cylinder, then install the lever.

For those of you who have rebuilt a master cylinder that's seized up after sitting for 30 years, we don't have to tell you how much time you'll save buying a new master cylinder!

This does not come with instructions, so please be informed about how to install a new master cylinder, or have a professional do it.

For use with M10 x 1.25 banjo bolt. Standard size for most all Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki's. We carry a variety of brake fittings and banjo bolts.

This master cylinder does not have a hydraulic brake switch built in but we have one available here.

14mm piston bore size. Here's a helpful article about front master cylinder ratios. We also carry a version of this master cylinder with a 15.8mm piston.

The mirror mount threading fits standard 10MM mirrors.

Replacement Master Cylinder for Honda cb550k

Posted by Joseph Edone on 4th Feb 2021

This master cylinder worked well as a replacement for the old part on the 1978 Honda CB550k. It works well and is a great item for the cost.

    Perfect for single disc brakes

Posted by John Evoy on 12th Oct 2020

This 14mm size worked perfectly on my single disc brake CB750. I had tried a 5/8" one previously which had no modulation because those larger ones are suited for double disc brakes.

Looks and works great on my 1976 cb360t. Looks very close to the original stock lock. Front brakes are working now.

Fits my K2 CB750. Nice quality, and the braking feel is quite nice. I prefer the rounded tank to the rectangle :)

    '74 CB750 - Awesome Replacement

Posted by Jon W. Whitley on 10th Nov 2018

I bought my '74 CB750 as a basket case and it had no front brakes as everything except the disc had been stripped from it. Fast forward and I was in the middle of rebuilding a frozen up Honda M/C, when I spotted this replacement M/C. I had acquired and rebuilt a front caliper and had everything I needed but a working M/C. Anyway, I ordered one of these pronto and super glad I did. I now have a functioning front brake and I am very happy with this M/C unit. Straight up plug and play affair and at a very good price. Highly recommended !

    14 vs 15.8mm

Posted by Steve Clark on 31st Mar 2018

Not a review but a comment, Honda's GL500 single disc brake used a 15.8mm master cylinder while the duel disc GL500I used a 14mm one.I didn't try either one yet but had to give a rating so went with average.
