This is a reproduction of the Kawasaki brake master cylinder found on the Z1, KZ900 and other bikes. It's a complete master cylinder and lever assembly. You can also use it one any of the 70's Hondas with single disc front brakes. Just flush your hoses, bolt it on, connect the brake hose, add fluid, bleed and then stop like you mean it. At this price it's practically cheaper to replace the whole thing rather than fixing parts of the original. It really looks nice having a new one of these on your bike. It obviously looks a little different from the original Honda master cylinders but as you can see in the photos, it still looks really nice! You can use this for just about any vintage bike application.
Note: The lever and pivot bolt don't come installed, apply some grease to the pivot bolt sleeve and the end of the piston on the master cylinder, then install the lever.
For those of you who have rebuilt a master cylinder that's seized up after sitting for 30 years, we don't have to tell you how much time you'll save buying a new master cylinder!
This does not come with instructions, so please be informed about how to install a new master cylinder, or have a professional do it.
For use with M10 x 1.25 banjo bolt. Standard size for most all Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki's. We carry a variety of brake fittings and banjo bolts.
This master cylinder does not have a hydraulic brake switch built in but we have one available here.
14mm piston bore size. Here's a helpful article about front master cylinder ratios. We also carry a version of this master cylinder with a 15.8mm piston.
The mirror mount threading fits standard 10MM mirrors.

78 CB550
Works great on my 78 CB550.

14 vs 15.8mm
Not a review but a comment, Honda's GL500 single disc brake used a 15.8mm master cylinder while the duel disc GL500I used a 14mm one.I didn't try either one yet but had to give a rating so went with average.

Excellent value!
I've used these on several builds. Why bother rebuilding a master cylinder when this one bolts right up, works great right out of the box and looks original?

Couldn't work better
Needed a replacement for my 72 CB750. This item worked perfect and really looks very very close to the original

Easy
1973 Honda CB350F, way easier and less frustrating than rebuilding the master on a stock assembly. Bolted on, and with their front brake line kit and crush washers, everything works great. No surprises here...

looks like the original
am restoring a '76 Honda 550F. It will be several months (hope by spring) until it is on the road. Can only buy so much each month, and only have so much time to get it disassembled and disassembled. Look like it will perfect.

Great Replacement
I bought my project bike with a non OEM master cylinder that seems to have come from a 80's model. I found this to be much better quality, mostly due to the metal construction of the reservoir. Make sure to purchase the crush washers metioned in the description. Only recommendation would be to also include the matching clutch handle (if available) in the description as well.

it's a thing!
The master cylinder was one of the first things I rebuilt on my CB350f. But after a few years it was messed up again and I have less time to screw around trying to make old stuff work, so I decided to replace the whole thing with this. It works fine and looks better than stock. The cap threads were cut a bit rough or something. I'm sure it could have been touched up and smoothed out but I just cranked the cap on and left it alone. Whoever responds to email here indicated that the 14mm version would be closest to the stock cylinder on the cb350f.

good fit
A good aftermarket product, fitted straight on, I changed the lid and also the lever as the original had the black plastic tip on it. Very happy, never had a bad product from these guys.A rebuild kit in OZ in nearly twice the price of this item
