This is a reproduction of the Kawasaki brake master cylinder found on the Z1, KZ900 and other bikes. It's a complete master cylinder and lever assembly. You can also use it one any of the 70's Honda's with single or dual disc front brakes. Just flush your hoses, bolt it on, connect the brake hose, add fluid, bleed and then stop like you mean it. At this price it's practically cheaper to replace the whole thing rather than fixing parts of the original. It really looks nice having a new one of these on your bike. It obviously looks a little different from the original Honda master cylinders but as you can see in the photos, it still looks really nice! You can use this for just about any vintage bike application.

Note: The lever and pivot bolt don't come installed, apply some grease to the pivot bolt sleeve and the end of the piston on the master cylinder, then install the lever.

For those of you who have rebuilt a master cylinder that's seized up after sitting for 30 years, we don't have to tell you how much time you'll save buying a new master cylinder!

This does not come with instructions, so please be informed about how to install a new master cylinder, or have a professional do it.

For use with M10 x 1.25 banjo bolt which is the standard size for most all Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki's. We carry a variety of brake fittings and banjo bolts.

The mirror mount threading fits standard 10MM mirrors.

This master cylinder does not have a hydraulic brake switch built in but we have one available here.

15.8mm piston bore size. Here's a helpful article about front master cylinder ratios. We also carry a version of this master cylinder with a silver lever and a 14mm piston which was the stock size on the Honda's with a single disc.

Can be used in place of Honda OEM part numbers: 45500-341-771, 45500-369-671, 45500-445-632, 45050-413-671

    I hate rebuilding MC's

This is a great MC for just a little more than the cost of a rebuild kit.

    Fixed the poor braking issy

Posted by Unknown on 24th Aug 2018

Great piece!! But someone should make it better known that there is an available pressuer switch for the brake light.... I almost didn't buy this because of my bike having a switch activated off contact with the lever instead of brake line pressure.

    15.8 vs 14 mm

Posted by Steve Clark on 31st Mar 2018

Not a review but a comment, Honda's GL500 single disc brake used a 15.8mm master cylinder while the duel disc GL500I used a 14mm one.I didn't try either one yet but had to give a rating so went with average.
